Choosing between Birch and Maple drums is tricky, but in terms of versatility and the range of drum set options available for today’s drummers, I’d have to say that Maple wins! Contents.
Maple drums offer more sustain, whereas birch drums have a faster attack. The differences are subtle and the head, construction and size of the drum typically has a bigger effect on the sound. Check out this YouTube video to hear the differences (maple on left, birch on right).

17 lut 2021 · The Birch/Maple Performer has cheaper hardware, and presumably a lower grade of Maple from EU or Asia. It's not North American maple. The Walnut/Birch kit sounds better to my ears, and they'd be perfect for rock and metal.
