From what I have seen Kindle Unlimited is worse than Scribd. Scribd is a competing e-book service that can be side loaded on a Kindle Fire, but can't work with a Paperwhite. I don't think there is a good ebook subscription for the Kindle Paperwhite, which is kind of sad.
Manipulatable and fraudulent, and therefore completely pointless. You click on a product with a 4.3 star rating, and when you read the actual reviews, so many of them say the product is garbage and leave low ratings. You keep clicking back to older reviews, same thing.
Going 'wide' (meaning not being in Kindle Unlimited (KU)) is a totally different mindset than being Amazon Exclusive. I'd recommend honing your approaches to self-pub, like covers, blurbs, and getting regular releases before considering the substantial workload that is going wide.

The review system is designed to scam customers and benefit scamming third party sellers. Did you get a fake product and you want to call out the seller in your review? Nope, that violates Amazon's review policy (read: it negatively impacts their sales).
