The PS4 uses a lot faster bus, which takes full advantage of the SSD speed. It also supports TRIM, which will make the drive last a long time. The PS3 has a slow bus AND does not support TRIM.

You get the same improvement with a hybrid drive as you would with a standard SSD because the PS3 just can't utilize the full speed of it. Save yourself money whilst giving yourself more storage and stick to Hybrid drives for this console.
