An ASI increases your chance to hit, damage (martial), and spell DC (casters). This ends up being a large part of the game. In the case of a rogue, it also improves their AC, initiative, and stealth/sleight of hand. A few feats can warrant bypassing an ASI: Sentinel, Polearm Master, and War Caster, to name a few.
I might get a level of fighter at level 12, because Fighting Style: Archery is just better than any remaining feat I could get. But I do want level 11 rogue for the sneak and reliable talent.

28 wrz 2010 · This small guide is for anyone that chooses to go towards any of the rogue paths and for anyone that wants to know how to survive. I can give advice towards any Baldurs Gate character in that area (both regular BG and Tutu). Alright, a few things to know about the rogue before we get started.
Any thief class can be viable, but I'd recommend a fighter-thief multiclass if you're new to the 2nd Edition AD+D rules. It winds up being a bit beefier than a pure thief, and much better at fighting. Since thieves are such a fast-leveling class, you don't lose as much by splitting the experience.
