Electroblob's Wizardry - tons of spells to discover and use. Remains one of my favorite magic mods to this day even though I haven't played 1.12.2 in a while. Other mods with spellcrafting are cool and all, but the sheer simplicity and variety of Electroblob's Wizardry always amazes me.
improved backpacks. This is the only backpack mod I know that would allow you to open backpack by right click directly in your inventory. This makes everything far easier. Most other backpack mods require you to take backpack to your hot bar and right click on your hand.
