I recently got into dubstep and I'm looking for some albums to listen to. I googled it and wasn't satisfied with any of the results so I'm trying here. For some historic records, check out Untrue by Burial and Welcome Reality by Nero.
Mount Kimbie is dubstep/FG to me. The two genres are really closely related and all but the most egregious house tunes I'd still call dubstep in the sense that FG is part of the larger genre.
In a genre characterized mostly by Single and EP releases, what album can you listen all the way through without skipping a single song? Notice I did not ask "which is the BEST dubstep album"; I'm sure many would say Skream!, Untrue, or something similar, but I'm hoping to dig up some hidden gems.
Because most of the dubstep has aged poorly and the best tracks on the album are a house track and the Bare Noize remix lol
The best dubstep album of all time however is probably Bangarang EP by Skrillex. 10 years old but it pushed the limits of dubstep in so many ways. There's never been a more pioneering album to come out in the scene since.
