25 wrz 2024 · Muskrat is the best Bait we've found and it's cheap. When you catch one skin it and cut it in half and use for bait. Mink can't resist it. It's the right price too. A mink will ravage a muskrat population once they find it and you'll catch em on the rat carcasses you trap. Good Luck.

1 mar 2019 · The best mink bait I have found is muskrat meat. My second choice would be FRESH fish. Never have tried using mink to bait mink. But may have to give it a try next season
Coilspring is definitely the trap of choice for mink trappers. Lots of old time mink trappers like the #2 because it so often get's both front feet and it takes the mink down underwater so quickly. They hardly go anywhere. I have caught a lot of mink in #110s too, they are great for trails along creek banks, slip banks, underwater edges, etc.
7 paź 2024 · Use either a body-grabbing or foothold trap. If you use a foothold trap, it should be rigged to drown the mink instantly. If you are in an area where dogs go do not use meat bait or raccoon gland lures. Place the trap in the very back of the pocket.
