MTDS Beginning Teacher Assistance Program meets and exceeds Missouri's certification requirements as established by State statute 168.400, RSMo. This opportunity provides: networking with other new teachers and educational consultants. just-in-time learning (critical firsts) awareness of the phases of a new teacher.
This is a DESE approved program. Missouri Rules and Regulations, 5 CSR 20-400.385, requires teachers to take a Beginning Teacher Assistance Program that is two (2) years long in order to upgrade their Initial Certification to a Career Continuous Certification.

BTAP is open to all novice teachers in Missouri and satisfies the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requirement for participation in a university/college-sponsored mentoring program.

MTDS Beginning Teacher Assistance Program (BTAP) meets Missouri's BTAP certification requirements. In-district support provided by NWRPDC staff, further supports a teacher’s first year at a deeper, more individualized level.
