The bearhead is obtained upon defeating the Kendal during the Mountain Daughter quest. Along with the Corpse of woman, it is proof Asleif Hamalsdotter is dead. If lost you can speak to Hamal the Chieftain to obtain another bearhead for free. It can also be re-obtained at May's Quest Caravan after putting 150 quest points into the Hub Track.
