We're looking for some feedback and advice regarding Bay Manufacturing outboard extension kits. We're considering expanding our product line and these kits would seem to be a logical fit. Please, anyone with experience (personal and/or professional) feel free to chime in.

- Bay Mfg Extension Kit
After posting this originally and before I did my install I talked to some techs who are putting these kits on new motors for tournament and offshore fishermen. They add the extensions to keep thier motors stabbed in the water when running high speeds in rough water.
13 mar 2014 · Apparently some of the Bay kits for larger motors will require some drilling/reaming of the mid section of the motor in order to accomodate the drive shaft extension. Call the Bay Kit folks and they will answer any questions!
7 lip 2016 · I am looking for information as to how the shaft extension attaches to the bottom of the powerhead. Bay Mfg. model 406 specifically. it is the 4" extension used on mid power mercury's mine is a 35HP. I am actually trying to remove one and it won't budge.
12 kwi 2011 · The Bay Mfg extension kit is a 5" conversion kit approved by all the marine motor manufactures. It is where the kit makes a certain length outboard 5" longers. I'll post pics tomorrow.
I extended a 20" F225 sport to 25" with the Bay kit about 10 years ago. It has been flawless and was not too bad to install. It does slightly complicate lower unit removal but, overall a great way to go if needed.
9 mar 2021 · Has anyone used one of these kits to extend the shaft length on their outboard? I have a motor that runs great on a small fishing boat but the boat really requires a longer shaft. If you've installed one, is there much to it?
