Battle Bond (Japanese: きずなへんげ Bond Transformation) is an event-exclusive Ability introduced in Generation VII. It is the signature Ability of Greninja.
It creates throwing stars out of compressed water. When it spins them and throws them at high speed, these stars can split metal in two. It appears and vanishes with a ninja’s grace. It toys with its enemies using swift movements, while slicing them with throwing stars of sharpest water.
Greninja can turn into Ash-Greninja if it has the Battle Bond ability. If it does, when it knocks out an opponent and the battle isn't over, it will change form. The Greninja that can turn into Ash-Greninja cannot breed.
Abilities: Torrent - Protean(Hidden Ability) (Standard) - Battle Bond (Alternate Greninja Only) Torrent: When HP is below 1/3rd its maximum, power of Water-type moves is increased by 50%. Hidden Ability: Protean: Before the Pokémon uses a move, it becomes a pure Pokémon of that type.
