I'm a big fan of Guitar Pro for songwriting as it lets you experiment with full-band arrangements quickly and easily, even if it does sound like ass. Also, don't be afraid to show up with just a bass part or a half-written song and ask for help.

26 lut 2016 · There's no reason a song can't be crafted around a bass line as its starting point. Certain styles of music will lend themselves to that better than others. For instance, you could easily do something Talking-Heads-like where the bass carries the song and the other stuff is window dressing.
One trick I stumbled on inadvertently when I didn't for a time have access to my guitars or bass, was to write basic song outlines with a midi keyboard and software synths, let them sit a while, and then reinterpret them on guitar and bass.
