12 cze 2023 · Cat scratch disease is an illness caused by an intracellular gram-negative rod known as Bartonella henselae. It affects the lymph nodes draining the area where a cat scratch or bite occurs, causing regional lymphadenopathy.

Cat-scratch disease is infection caused by the gram-negative bacterium Bartonella henselae. Symptoms are a local papule and regional lymphadenitis. Recently, Bartonella henselae has been identified as the causative agent of cat scratch disease (CSD). Parinaud first described conjunctival inflammation with preauricular adenopathy following animal contact more than 100 years ago.
