(jburnett) In the import world, there are a number of low boost turbo kit's that do not use intercoolers. they are limited to like 6 lbs of boost, but, on some of the higher performance 4 bangers, 6 lbs is about all the 10:1 compression will deal with.

You are stuck with finding a used or rebuilt “LT1“ T56. To make 500 rear wheel HP through the 4L60E the engine needs to make about 600 HP. Through the T56 the engine needs to make about 575 HP.
