The GM L3B engine is the all-new 2.7-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that debuted in the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. This engine was designed specifically for use in full-size pickup trucks, and by the way, it is the first 4-cylinder ever used for GM's full-size pickups.
3 sty 2023 · It gets about 2 mpg less overall compared to the 2.7. The 2.7 is much quicker around town and I am sure will pull a trailer better due to the large amount of torque in the 1500 to 2000 rpm range. The 8 speed transmission seems very well sorted out to me on this truck.

I'm considering trading in my 2WD Silverado Custom with EcoTec3 V6 to the new 2.7L Turbo. Turbo wins on all things that matter to me: mpg, towing, speed, horsepower, torque. Buuut it's a 4 cylinder.
2.7 owners what are your honest thoughts? I’m in a position of GM offering to buy my colorado back due to an immense amount of mechanical issues I had last year. The new Colorado ZR2’s are only being made with the 2.7L turbo 4cyl. I’m extremely, extremely skeptical of downgrading from my V6.
