Although MEGA has been run on these systems, performance is very poor. For users with macOS systems using M1 chips, the Windows or Linux version of MEGA can be run using virtualization or emulation software. Mega allows much better editing and arrangement of files within folders. Also allows sharing links with non-members to view photos and download as required. So it seems it's very reliable and I have had few issues at all so I vote it very highly recommended for storing files safely.
