28 paź 2022 · It is surmised that a church was probably on this site as far back as the 9th century. An impressive lineage. In the mid 1400s the beautiful place we glory in today was established. During the Reformation debates in the 1520s Baden decided to remain Catholic and so the church was treasured.
There are three designated religious buildings in Baden; the Catholic city church and Sebastians chapel, the Swiss Reformed parish church and the Synagogue on Parkstrasse 17. Perhaps included in the last two groups is the Crematorium and memorial hall on Zürcherstrasse 108.
Mit dem Ausbau des Legionslagers in Vindonissa (Windisch) wurden die Badener Thermen zu Beginn unserer Zeitrechnung zum römischen Aquae Helveticae. Dort, wo heute die Stadtkirche steht, dürfte sich im 9. Jahrhundert erstmals ein kirchenähnliches Gebäude befunden haben.

25 maj 2023 · Church of the Assumption of Mary – Baden Old Town. Pass under the tower’s archway and you can go three ways. Up to the castle ruins via either staircase in the right hand wall just after the archway (image further down). Explore the streets on the right hand side, circling back to the main street called Weitegasse.
The Church Treasure Museum is located in the baroque chapter house of the Gothic church dating from 1458 and contains liturgical vessels, utensils, reliquaries and vestments, some of which have been used in church services for centuries.
