In addition to owning and operating Ferncroft Farms for over 35 years, Larry has owned and operated the Triangle Metro Zoo (Raleigh, NC), with a collection of over 400 animals.

There are two species of Camels, the Dromedary (single hump) and the Bactrian (double hump). Bactrian camels are rugged cold-climate animals while Dromedaries are desert dwellers. Both are native to the dry desert areas of Asia and northern Africa.
