Has anyone found a reliable way to insert math symbols, TeX, or other arbitrary formatting into the annotations? So far, the best I've come up with is to enter the unicode prefixed by "0x" and hit alt+X after it.
In this connection, postulates 1 to 9 are called axioms of an (ordered) field. By Definition \(1, E^{1}\) is an ordered field. Clearly, whatever follows from the axioms must hold not only in \(E^{1}\) but also in any other ordered field. Thus
An axiom system is a collection of statements which de ne a mathematical structure like a linear space. The statements of an axiom system are not proven; they are assertions which are assumed to be true. They need to be \interesting" in the sense that there should be realizations which satisfy these axioms.

This leaflet provides information on symbols and notation commonly used in mathematics. It is designed to enable further information to be found from resources in mathcentre (www.mathcentre.ac.uk). In the table below, the symbol or notation is given in column one.
Geometry Axioms and Theorems Definition: The plane is a set of points that satisfy the axioms below. We will sometimes write E2 to denote the plane. Axiom 1: Given any two points, A and B in the plane, there is one and only one line AB that contains both points, one and only one segment AB that has those points as endpoints, and one
