I worked at a school system where adjuncts got scale as long as they were teaching more than one class (it's a sliding scale based on experience and education, but I was making $8,500 per class). I did that at multiple schools in the same system for years and made insane money.

It seems to be a bit better in my country, I have seen job ads that pay sessional instructors 7-9000 a month per class, but I believe it's less than that at smaller institutions with smaller class sizes. I think those rates are pretty good though.
