  1. 12 mar 2019 · I am working in AutoCAD LT 2019. I have file A (GROUND FLOOR), xref'ed into file B (GROUND FLOOR_Group A), and file B xref'ed into file C (Sheet file). The problem I am having is that when I try to Xref file B into my sheet file (or even new files) I often get the invalid error message below:

  2. 15 maj 2012 · When I tried to XREF a file into an existing file, it being invalid. After looking further, it said the xref had the same block name as a current block in the drawing. So I purged everything and it attached fine.

  3. 22 maj 2018 · I am looking at the Xref file and it has AMCAD objects - do you have an object enabler for that application? It also shows that it is missing three Xref files. Can you share those too to make sure that is not part of the issue?

  4. 13 cze 2024 · Solution: Try one or more of the following solutions: Update AutoCAD, (see Install Updates, Add-ons, and Enhancements). Troubleshoot the file location. Check first is still available in the mentioned path i XREF Manager.

  5. AutoCAD R14 will remove any invalid path from its Support File Search Path. This is designed behavior to insure that performance is not degraded when AutoCAD searches through all support paths that are listed.

  6. 3 maj 2024 · Solution: Nested references. Detach missing nested referenced by doing the following: In the host file, enter XREF to open the External References palette. Click a missing file to check if it's a nested reference. Open the external reference containing the nested file. Right-click on the missing reference and select Detach. Save and close the file.

  7. In the External References palette, select an external reference file with a not found status. Right-click the selected reference and select Select New Path from the context menu. Note: It is recommended that for a single selected broken reference, use the Select New Path option.
