It's free, it's not dependent on other software, it can rip and decode your library. Look at your settings before starting. If you want MP3 to be extra safe/compatible then fix those settings before starting a large download from Audible. Default is .m4b. Shout out to u/darchangel - awesome software - cheers!

Libation* is a free and open source program for windows for downloading your audible library and removing DRM. By default it downloads as m4b format audiobook files but there's also a setting for downloading as mp3 instead.
I just downloaded Libation on my desktop computer and love how well it handles downloaded and conversion. The old audible app I'd been using was a dinosaur requiring me to download books manually, then move them into the app. I also have a Windows Vista laptop I use when traveling.
