The Hydrologic Atlas for Ohio has been developed as a reference for the basic parameters of the hydrologic cycle, including precipitation, temperature, streamflow and water loss. Data in this report are based on 50 years of records for each of these parameters from 1931‒1980.
Surface water, like rivers and lakes, as well as groundwater have flows that change all the time. The USGS maps and measures water to help understand the environment and how water moves through it. Maps are important tools in understanding water resources, conditions, and issues.
The Division of Water Resources manages statewide oversight of dams & levees, floodplains, and the collection and management of data related to the state's water resources.
12 sty 2024 · The National Water Availability Assessment Data Companion is a centralized website and data delivery system that will provide routinely updated and nationally consistent modeled water quantity, water quality, and water use information, along with long-term trends in observational data.
The U.S. Geological Survey's Streamer application allows users to explore where their surface water comes from and where it flows to. By clicking on any major stream or river, the user can trace it upstream to its source(s) or downstream to where it joins a larger river or empties into the ocean.
28 kwi 2023 · The National Hydrography Dataset Plus High Resolution provides the most detailed map of the waters of the United States available. The user’s guide provides the details of how the data were created and ideas for how they can be used.
Nationally, USGS surface-water data includes more than 850,000 station years of time-series data that describe stream levels, streamflow (discharge), reservoir and lake levels, surface-water quality, and rainfall.
