The Water Tribe is one of the original four nations and its citizens primarily inhabit the northern and southernmost regions of the globe, near both poles. It is also a collective term for the nation of people who practice the art of waterbending.
The Water Tribe is a sovereignty of waterbenders and nonbenders. There are three tribes: the Northern Water Tribe, centered in the North Pole; the Southern Water Tribe, centered in the South Pole; and the Foggy Swamp Tribe, located in the Earth Kingdom's Foggy Swamp. The water nation hand holding seems to be a southern warrior trait. Keyword, warrior. I went through the entire water nation footage, and it seems they don't even have traditional greetings. All their conversation are informal, and begin without even an expectation or pause for any greetings.

The Water Tribe’s diet resembles indigenous groups as they both ate fish due to their proximity to water.
