Under the "Microphone Properties", I have volume set to 100 (not muted) and Microphone Boost set to +36.0 dB (I have tried the lower levels too). I do have things configured both in Windows 10 Settings and in the settings for each of those apps so that they have permission to use my microphone.
In the sound control panel, go to the "recording" tab and open the properties of your microphone, click the "levels" tab and ensure it is both set to max volume and unmuted. Disable all other microphone devices so the only possible microphone for your pc to choose from is your chosen microphone.

I have the ASUS G14 (3060) connected to an ASUS VG248QG gaming monitor. The laptop and monitor are connected by a HDMI cable. I have my Astro A40 TR headset plugged into the back of the monitor and I can hear sound perfectly. However, I am unable to get my headset microphone to work.
Turn on Microphone Privacy in each app. Select Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone . In Allow access to the microphone on this device, select Change and make sure Microphone access for this device is turned on. Then, allow apps access to your microphone.

I have a horrible issue with my Windows 10 where not a single microphone will work for it. I’ve tried every possible solution. I stopped apps like Steam and Skype for Business from messing with it. That works for a little while, and you can actually hear me. Something seems to always mess with my microphone, and I don’t know / can’t identify what.
