Steam. I have it on both Xbox and switch. It's a good game Imo to play on the switch with a lot of longevity, the switch also runs it decently so it's not a bad game to play on the go. I went from xbox to pc, pc def has better options like being able to trade saves.
I personally prefer Medium C for the round platform. I personally skip the Large A (1 Tier-3 slot) that you start off with. I instead scan the various instant-scan Research Samples on the surface and underground to get the 500 Bytes needed to unlock the Large B, which has 1 Tier-3 and 2 Tier-2 slots.
I have heaps of games on Xbox and PC, but Astroneer is the only game I have on both. I've loved the game, have hundreds of hours in it, and still like playing it. I would say yes, buy it.

Don't buy astroneer on PC. There's cracked for free with the latest updates as well so there's no point in buying it. Me and my brother play together Astroneer and neither of us bought the game.
