My daughter, wife, and I did about an 11 mile hike in almost that same spot. That is some serious backcountry. Really no help for a LONG time. The heat and dehydration was taking a toll on us during just a day hike. Serious props to that dude. We actually witnessed a giant chunk of sandstone spalling off a cliff, sounded like a cannon went off.
