1 lis 2023 · Military mail postage costs the same as domestic postage. That means a first-class mail stamp can deliver a letter to a US military service member anywhere in the world. All military locations are assigned a ZIP Code number referred to as an APO/FPO/DPO number.
WHAT IS A MILITARY ADDRESS? APO: “Army Post Office” is associated with the Army or Air Force installations. FPO: “Fleet Post Office” is associated with Navy installations and ships. DPO: “Diplomatic Post Office” is associated with U.S. embassies overseas. MPO: “Military Post Office” provides postal services for military personnel.
For APOs and DPOs, either the Army or Air Force provides personnel. For FPOs, the Navy does the job. At each APO, FPO, or DPO, there is an equivalent to "a-real-honest-to-goodness-Post Office" staffed by members of the respective branch of service.
