18 wrz 2021 · Every Elder Scrolls race has an interesting history and culture behind it, but none are as mysterious as the insular Argonians from Black Marsh.
A female and male Argonian in Skyrim. Argonians or Saxhleel [1] [2] are an oviparous race of reptilian people native to the large and marshy province of Tamriel known as Black Marsh. They can be found in smaller numbers throughout the continent. [3]
Argonians (Saxhleel, [1] or People of the Root [2] [3] in their native language of Jel) are the reptilian natives of Black Marsh, a vast swampland province in southeastern Tamriel. The other races often refer to them as lizards or the Lizard Folk instead, especially when meaning to be derogatory.
There are several argonian tribes some of which vary in features and appearances from the standard Argonians. The Agacephs have needle like faces, The Paatru are described as toad-like, The Sarpa supposedly have wings, The Veeskhleel-Tzel have white scales.
I’ve always wanted to create a compendium of Argonian lore that shed light on their ancient civilization and its fall. I’ve also wanted to write down how I viewed their race’s relationship with the Hist, and answer questions like “Where do the Argonians come from?”.
29 kwi 2021 · Unlike most of the races who either worship the Divines or the Daedric Princes, the Argonians worship a sentient race of trees called The Hist. These trees are found commonly throughout the Black Marsh, and are able to communicate amongst each other.
Argonians are a hardy race with scaled skin, sharp claws, horns and raspy voices. Their scales can appear in a variety of hues, including (but not limited to) green, brown, black, red, blue and white. They are known for their resilience, which is embodied by their resistance to disease.
