30 wrz 2020 · In Greek mythology, Ares was not described as being properly married. Instead, Aphrodite was referred to as his consort rather than his wife. The two were said to have fallen in love, but Zeus instead arranged Aphrodite’s marriage to Hephaestus.
Ares was the Olympian god of war, battlelust and manliness. This page describes the loves of the god. Most of these, however, appear only in the ancient genealogies with no accompanying story. The most significant of the love-myths was the tale of his affair with the goddess Aphrodite.
At the time, the goddess of beauty was married to Ares’ brother, Hephaestus, who was told by Helios of his wife’s transgressions. Hephaestus fashioned a delicate, almost invisible, bronze net, which he put on the bed where Ares and Aphrodite were supposed to lie.

24 mar 2017 · In the Greek myths, Ares was noted for his beauty and courage, qualities which no doubt helped him win the affections of the Greek goddess Aphrodite (even though she was married to Hephaistos) with whom he had a daughter, Harmonia, and the god of love and desire Eros.
Occasionally, Aphrodite was Ares’ legitimate wife, and by her he fathered Deimos, Phobos (who accompanied him into battle), Harmonia, and—as first told by Simonides in the 6th century bce —Eros, god of love.
14 lut 2024 · Ares isn’t married. Instead, he fathered his sons with Aphrodite, the goddess of love, who was originally the wife of Hephestus, the god of fire and craftsmen. Aphrodite didn’t like her husband, who was ugly and had a lame leg. Ares’ handsome physique and face allured her and they frequently met illicitly. Eventually, Hephestus found out.
