23 paź 2015 · In my opinion, the print quality on the vinyl side-art was actually quite good (my art is 200dpi, printed on their black-adhesive vinyl). Granted, my art is fairly simple and dark. Here's an extreme close-up of the Avenger "A" logo.
8 lip 2019 · Laminate is just a very unique material that allows for great results on arcade cabinets. Laminate is worth the hassle. Worn but not defeated Nintendo orange laminate. Many collectors will attempt to reapply laminate to classic Nintendo titles, or to the fronts of Atari cabinets.
27 mar 2018 · Laminate is more forgiving and durable. For the side's, I like to use Laminate, vinyl is more suitable for fronts, backs and tops. Of course that depends on if they match. My SI trimline had wood side's and black front, back and top so I used vinyl.
If you want artwork on the sides your best bet is to apply vertical grade laminate first, then apply new vinyl over top it. If you just sand/paint and then apply vinyl afterwards you won't like the results.

19 lis 2016 · It’s my understanding that authentic arcade cabinets used laminate for that classic woodgrain look. I thought I’d make use of modern technology and reduce my labor by using a simulated woodgrain vinyl. I ended up buying DI-NOC vinyl by 3M.
