The Ferry. The Port Aransas Ferry System, operated by the Texas Department of Transportation, provides FREE transportation service seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The Free Port Aransas Ferry runs 24 hours, 7 days a week. The route runs up to six ferries a day and connects travelers on SH 361 a link across the Corpus Christi Channel between Aransas Pass, on the mainland, and Port Aransas, on Mustang Island.
I was amazed with this system. It takes you from Aransas pass to Port Aransas in less than 5 minutes. You will only have to make a line and wait from 10 to 25 minutes depending on traffick to cross from one place to another.
