It depends on what you want to do and how fast you want to change magazines. The fastest is the Gen 2 or Gen 4 coupled with the Kingpin. This combination gives you the closest experience to a standard magazine release with all the benefits of firearm manipulation and malfunction clearing.
The difference is how adjustable they are. In the Gen 2, the thing is held together by a screw opposite the maglock itself, on that plate thing right under the bolt catch. The way it's designed, you have to fit it snugly or not at all.

The tiny set screw they used was essentially the only thing holding everything together. Even with locktite applied the screw would at times undo and my magazine release spring would go flying. Gen 2 they used a beefier hex screw vice a tiny set screw to hold everything in place.
Always use the firearm and AR MAGLOCK products as designed, engineered and intended for use. After depletion of your 10 round magazine, you must hit the bolt catch release to bring the bolt ‘home’.
I had the AR Maglock gen 2 with kingpin for awhile. I got tired of messing around with the tightness of the set screw, and filing down the lip on the maglock. I just wanted it to work with bolt back.
