This message notifies of a revision to AR 600–9, the Army Body Composition Program, that introduces a one-site circumference-based tape method and a supplemental body fat assessment. The message applies to all Army components and provides implementation guidance and charts for the new method.
In 2023, the Army updated the AR 600-9 to introduce a new one-site tape method that provides soldiers with a more accurate and consistent body fat assessment. The on-site method will become the only authorized circumference-based tape method after a 12-month transition period.
