The AR-30 has a free-floating, heavy barrel that is 26 inches long and has a 1:10 twist rate. The barrel is fitted with a target crown to enhance accuracy. The rifle also comes with a muzzle brake that reduces recoil and muzzle rise, making it easier to stay on target after each shot.

The old 170-grain loads, when zeroed at 150 yards, were nearly 5 inches low at 200 yards, 12.5 inches low at 250, and 24 inches low at 300.
