These slides are from a 35mm slide tray that was labeled AQUASCO 1965-66. It contains a number of great shots. There is George Reese's Prefect, a match race between K.S. Pittman and Dick Landy, some great local cars. Also Pete's Chevy Impala station wagon.
Drag Strip: Aquasco Speedway, Maryland Event: Accident Date: June 26, 1965 Car: "Kemo Sabay" AA/FD Biographical: He was reportedly killed when his front wheel came off his vehicle. He was traveling at a speed of 187 MPH. He lost control and sped into a wooded area and turned over.

A nice side shot! An east coast favorite, this was a really cool car. This is the very early version and a rare shot. Standing in front of his B/G Ford Prefect at Aquasco Speedway. The car was sponsored by Kenilworth Sunoco. Does anyone remember her name? A "great" shot of a father and his young son, dressed smartly for a Sunday at Aquasco.
30 cze 2010 · Aquasco Speedway was a pioneering track in the east. Developed by Alfonso and Albert Procopio in the mid 1950’s it was intended for it to be a purpose built strip for quarter mile racing and the first of its kind in the area.
2 lip 2008 · Bored at work and came across this site. Always loved to hear stories from the guys about Aquasco. It was a little bit before my time but it seemed to be the spot back in the day. Pretty cool that it has sat unmolested. Aquasco Speedway
4 mar 2008 · Much of it is still there in the woods. I got the coordinates and everything planned on making a trip but just haven't got to it yet. I really like the old abandoned drag strips.
