Courses based on this specification should encourage students to: apply knowledge and understanding when making, performing and responding to drama; explore performance texts, understanding their social, cultural and historical context including the theatrical conventions of the period in which they were created
The subject content for GCSE Drama is divided into three components: Understanding drama; Devising drama; Texts in practice; Guidance is also provided on the theatrical skills students will need to work on. In the practical components students may specialise in performing, lighting, sound, set, costume and/or puppets. 2.2 Assessments
