Apple Hill is approximately 45-minutes drive (50 miles) from Sacramento. To get there, simply take Highway 50 east, through Placerville, and exit at either Schnell School Rd, Carson Rd (Camino), or Ridgeway Dr (Cedar Grove). See this map for a good overview of all the farms and Highway 50 exits.

Apple Hill is not a single location, it is many individual farms that open to the public between October and December. It is all in a small area and a very good map is available on their website. We only went to two, Boa Vista where we got free samples of apples and cider (and of course bought some), and Able's just down the road.
