Migrating from 8.0.x or 8.5.x to 9.0.x. This section lists all the known changes between 8.0.x / 8.5.x and 9.0.x which may cause backwards compatibility problems when upgrading. Some of these changes and new features are already present in Apache Tomcat 8.5.x.
If you are upgrading from Apache Tomcat 9.0 to Apache Tomcat 10.1, you should read the "Tomcat 10.1 Migration Guide" which covers everything that applies for upgrading from the previous version. If you are upgrading past several versions at once, you should read all the migration guides in between.
24 gru 2020 · I've recently inherited a system running Tomcat 7.0.68 and discovered that Tomcat 7 will reach end of life in March of 2021. I also learned that Tomcat 8.0 appears to have been superseded by both Tomcat 8.5 and 9.0, which seems confusing to me. Which is the recommended upgrade candidate? Are there pros and cons for one versus the other?

21 paź 2017 · Tomcat 7 is good and works well for Java 8 however, not recommended for Java8 as all features of Java 8 were not supported in tomcat 7. Please use tomcat 9.x with Java 8 (Recommended from Tomcat Apache)
