I’ve recently come across this great Firefox plugin to download .mp3 files from Libby (not overdrive). This makes managing your books way simpler as you can use your favourite audio player. When I looked for similar services I could only find difficult solutions on Reddit.
This one, the Libby Audiobook Exporter, works much like the Firefox Libby Download extension in that you don't have to play or scan the book. just open the Libby audioboooks on the Libby website. You might need to refresh the Libby page at least once, maybe a couple of times to engage the extension.
The Chrome WebStore extension LIBBY AUDIOBOOK EXPORTER, which works in any chromium based desktop browser (eg Chrome, Edge, Vivaldi, etc), and also works in two chromium based mobile browsers - KIWI or YANDEX. Or downloading the MP3 files in the Overdrive Desktop App or the Overdrive mobile app (for Android at least).

Libby Downloader is a Firefox extension that allows for download and transfer of audiobooks from the Libby website for transfer to devices that are now unsupported (e.g. the Sansa Clip).
I've been using the Overdrive web site to download mp3 versions of borrowed audiobooks to my computer then transferring them to a basic mp3 player. they're not going to make it easier for people to do that.
