Follow these guidelines to include a running head in an APA Style paper: Type the running head in all-capital letters. Ensure the running head is no more than 50 characters, including spaces and punctuation. Avoid using abbreviations in the running head; however, the ampersand symbol (&) may be used rather than “and” if desired.

APA offers guidelines for formatting and citing quotations, but many APA disciplines use quotations sparingly, favoring summary and paraphrase. In general, spell the numbers one to nine (p. 111) and any larger number that begins a sentence (but try reworking the sentence before doing so; p. 112).
