General rule of thumb is to go AD when your team is mostly AP, and go AP when your team is mostly AD. However, i’d recommend you go AD in a difficult matchup as AD gives you a much better laning phase. I usually back at 1000 or 1300 gold to buy a recurve bow and boots.
