2 lis 2022 · The use of electrocardiographic-gated images decreases motion artifact and improves edge depiction in aortic root imaging, with diminished measurement variability. 16 If there are aortic wall changes (eg, atherosclerosis, mural thrombus), as is more commonly noted in the arch and distal aorta, or discrete wall thickening (eg, aortitis or IMH ...

26 sty 2017 · Thoracic aortic mural thrombus (TAMT) of the descending aorta is rare but can result in dramatic embolic events. Early treatment is therefore crucial; however, there is not a consensus on ideal initial treatment.
Three patients (33.3%) showing pedunculated thrombus (one in pararenal aorta, one at the level of the celiac aorta, and one in the thoracic aorta) were immediately treated with the association of systemic anticoagulation and aortic surgery.
Management ranged from anticoagulation for sessile, small thrombus to endovascular stenting or stent grafting for large or nonvisceral aortic thrombus and open surgical aortic thrombectomy for visceral thoracoabdominal thrombus.
4 lip 2023 · Objectives: Describe the pathophysiology of mural thrombus. Review the evaluation of a patient with mural thrombus. Outline the management options available for mural thrombus. Summarize interprofessional team strategies for improving care coordination and outcomes in patients with mural thrombus.
21 lip 2022 · Successful management, as defined by thrombus resolution, regression, or exclusion, was achieved in 82% of patients receiving medical treatment, 100% receiving endovascular treatment, 50% receiving surgical treatment, and 86% overall.
The purpose of this paper is to describe all available evidence on the distinctive features of a group of 4 life-threatening acute aortic pathologies gathered under the name of acute aortic syndrome (AAS). The epidemiology, diagnostic strategy, and management of these patients has been updated.
