31 mar 2023 · Depression is a common mental disorder. Globally, an estimated 5% of adults suffer from depression. More women are affected by depression than men. Depression can lead to suicide. There is effective treatment for mild, moderate and severe depression.
Globally, the estimated newly-diagnosed anxiety disorders patients increased from 31.13 (95% UI: 25.08, 37.92) million in 1990 to 45.82 (95% UI: 37.14, 55.62) million in 2019, with a relatively stable ASIR of about 5.8 (95% UI: 4.68, 7.03) cases per 1000 population over the past 30 years (Table 1).
