Overpronation occurs when the way you walk leads to more flattened arches over time causing tension in your foot and leg muscles.
Pronation refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. It’s part of the natural movement of the human body but it differs from person to person. As your foot strikes the ground it rolls inward to absorb the shock.

Overpronation is when your foot lands on the outside heel and rolls or pronates inward. The inner edge of your foot takes the brunt of the impact, leading to pressure in the big toe and second toe. Knowing this, overpronators may experience shin splints, plantar fasciitis, bunions and heel spurs.
