Animal Farm. Adapted and directed by Sue Flack. Scene 1: Napoleon’s Speech . This is Manor Farm. This is Mr. Jones the farmer. Mr. Jones was a bad farmer. He didn’t feed the animals. He didn’t milk the cows. He beat them with a stick. Mr. Jones preferred to drink, to drink a lot at the pub.
Scene 1. STORYTELLER. Mr Jones of the Manor Farm locked the hen-houses for the night, but was too drunk to remember to shut the pop-holes.
In this short version, a power-hungry pig named Napoleon, convinces the other animals to rebel against the humans, take over the farm, and live free. Soon they are walking upright, dressed in full military gear and carrying ridiculous weaponry.
Animal Farm. (Narrator) To the world we all know,which may or may not be the best world possible,once again Springtime had come. But all the magic of Spring was not enough to conceal the misery of Manor Farm. Once thriving and fruitful, the farm, and its owner, Mr Jones,had fallen on evil days.
