8 wrz 2020 · I managed to patch the boot.img with Magisk 20.4 (20400). Then I replaced the patched boot.img and updated to Android 11 with "flash_all.bat" method. However, the phone did not boot until I flashed stock original boot.img from Android 11 system image.
10 paź 2020 · You now have a patched boot.img ready to flash to either slot with fastboot or boot via fastboot, would recommend booting as this is risk free, if it's a bad image for whatever reason and you choose to flash then your phone may bootloop.

3 paź 2020 · If anyone is stilling having this issue on Pixel 2 XL coming from Android 10 to 11, it turns out that, as mentioned, Magisk 20 creates a patched img of half the size. Changing the channel to beta and to 21 then creates an img of 40mb. fastboot boot flashing now works.
20 sty 2021 · After trying to install Magisk with the patched magisk_boot.img from the latest Canary (and Beta) version of the Manager, the device is unable to boot and goes into the bootloop. The reboot occurs right after the SONY logo shows up, hence ADB is not able to connect to the device (previously enabled on the working unrooted system).
