You must apply to be a known shipper for EACH airline. The following is a listing of known airline information for shipment of human remains and/or cremated remains. NFDA recommends you check with the airline to understand their procedures and required documentation.
The Compassionate Transportation Manual (CTM) consolidates the requirements for the airline acceptance and transport of human remains for IATA member airlines and lists the international standards for the documentation.
The IATA Guidelines on Handling of Human Remains can be found in the IATA Airport Handling Manual at page 149: AHM 333 Handling of Human Remains, or in the introduction of the IATA TACT (The Air Cargo Tariff).
