Activating rewards right before purchases makes sense - you “only” have 9 months (I think?) to use them, while if you keep them as points, you theoretically can save them as long as you needed. Handy in the pandemic days. Maybe your local AMC shuts down, and you can now save your points if you travel and want to see a movie.

With A-List you’ll get 150 points per $1 spent at AMC, then you get $5 AMC rewards when you accumulate 5k points. As for non-AMC purchases, it’s 20 stubs points per $1 on dining, groceries, gas and 10 points per $1 on everything else.
