Terraria has no formal player class or leveling system. However, weapons can be grouped into four ( five) distinct categories based on their damage type – melee, ranged, magic, and summoning. Each class has its strengths and weaknesses and has a wide variety of weapons to choose from.

Mathematically, against an enemy with 0 defence, full crit and full damage are identical. However, due to diminishing returns, raising both crit and damage equally (accessories half menacing, half lucky) is optimal, providing slightly higher dps.
I’ve just about reached the end of my Master Mode melee playthrough. I’m in the process of getting the full solar armor and Zenith, but I was wondering what I should do about accessories. Currently I have: Celestial starboard Soaring insignia Frozen shield Berserker’s glove Mechanical glove Celestial shell Worm scarf.
